Brunei Darussalam is set to host the Musabaqah National Level Al-Quran Memorisation and its Understanding Competition for 1446 Hijrah, bringing together Al-Quran scholars from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.
The event will take place at the International Convention Centre in Berakas, with the first day scheduled for today. The competition will feature two main categories. The first category, focusing on the memorisation of 10 Juzuk of Al-Quran alongside the understanding of Surah At-Tawbah will be held on the first day. The second category, for memorising all 30 Juzuk of Al-Quran with comprehension of Surah Al-Hujurat, will take place on the second day on Saturday, followed by the closing ceremony.
The contestants include representatives: Brunei Darussalam: Muhammad Mughni bin Haji Mohd Salleh (30 Juzuk), Ahmad Huzaifah bin Haji Awang Hasbi (10 Juzuk); Indonesia: Muhammad Haikal Al Ghifari (30 Juzuk), Hanin Mashlahah (10 Juzuk); Malaysia: Muhammad Rifaei bin Mat Zuki (30 Juzuk), Aisyah Nabihah binti Norr Hisham (10 Juzuk); and Singapore: Dewi Erika binte Samidi (30 Juzuk), Solihin bin Zainal (10 Juzuk).
The national-level event is expected to not only celebrate Al-Quran reading but also strengthen ties between nations, encouraging intellectual and spiritual exchanges in the Islamic community. – Fadley Faisal
