Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei
Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Perbadanan TAIB) and its subsidiaries, Insurans Islam TAIB Holdings Sdn Bhd (IITHSB) and Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd (DHSB) organised a korban distribution to the underprivileged community in Kampong Penapar and Kampong Bukit Udal in the Tutong District.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof in his capacity as the Chairman of Perbadanan TAIB’s Board of Directors was present at the event.
The ceremony distributed korban meat to 100 recipients from 27 underprivileged families residing in Kampong Penapar and Kampong Bukit Udal.
The celebration concluded with a recitation of Doa Selamat led by Kampong Penapar Mosque Head of Imam Abdul Wafiy bin Haji Abdul Kadiroshman.
Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan
The Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) held a korban ceremony at their premises on Thursday.
Two buffaloes were sacrificed and the korban meat distributed to 25 students and members of the university college. KUPU SB Ra’es Associate Professor Dr Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani handed over the korban meat. – Rokiah Mahmud
Bendahara Sakam Bunut Primary School
The Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) of Bendahara Sakam Bunut Primary School held a Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration at The Airport Mall yesterday. Some 250 parents, guardians and school members attended the event.
The celebration saw a presentation of prizes to four students who achieved excellent results in the 2023 Primary School Assessment (PSR) examinations.
The prizes were sponsored by village consultative councils of Kampong Bunut, Kampong Madewa and Kampong Tasek Meradun.
Acting Penghulu of Mukim Kilanas Ahmad Hussaini bin Haji Mohsin, who is also the village head of Kampong Tasek Meradun and Kampong Bunut, presented the prizes to the students. The ceremony also saw the appointment of the new executive committee for the 2024-2026 session. – Lyna Mohamad
Takaful Brunei
A korban ceremony was organised by Takaful Brunei at Kampong Pengkalan Batu Mosque on Thursday.
Seven buffaloes were sacrificed as a personal contribution of Takaful Brunei employees and their families, and the korban meat was later distributed to underprivileged families and orphans in Kampong Pengkalan Batu and Kampong Batong.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Takaful Brunei Haji Shahrildin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Utama Dato Paduka Haji Jaya distributed the korban meat.
Kampong Kilanas Mosque
Forty asnaf individuals received korban meat during a ceremony at Kampong Kilanas Mosque on Thursday.
The korban ceremony, organised by the mosque takmir committee, sacrificed six buffaloes this year as part of the mosque’s annual religious activities.
Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Haji Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan distributed the korban meat. – Rokiah Mahmud
IBTE Sultan Bolkiah Campus
The Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Sultan Bolkiah Campus (SBC) conducted a korban ceremony at its campus in Seria, where five buffaloes were sacrificed for the occasion.
The campus students, instructors and staff members took part in the cutting, preparing and packing of korban meat.
Acting Chief Executive Officer and Principal of IBTE Satellite Campus Dr Suhaimi bin Haji Abdul Wahab distributed the sacrificial meat to recipients. – Daniel Lim
Kampong Batong
Members of a local family sacrificed two buffaloes and distributed the korban meat to asnaf recipients in their community recently.
The event took place at the residence of Haji Wasli bin Haji Metali in Kampong Batong, and was the second time such an event took place at the venue.
Muhamad Ali bin Hassan, a member of the family, highlighted the religious significance of the ceremony and added that the event aimed to strengthen familial ties among participants. He also expressed hope that such a gathering would be carried out again in the future. – Fadley Faisal
RPN Kampong Pandan ‘C’ & RPN Kampong Panaga
A family in the Belait District hosted a two-day long korban ceremony recently, sacrificing a total of 15 buffaloes and five goats to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha.
The group was led by Haji Kadir bin Haji Suhaili.
Family members, neighbours and volunteers helped cut, prepare and pack the sacrificial meat before its distribution to the underprivileged living in RPN Kampong Pandan ‘C’ and RPN Kampong Panaga.
Village head of RPN Kampang Pandan ‘C’ Haji Affandy bin Damit also helped distribute the korban meat to the recipients during the event. – Daniel Lim
RPN Kampong Rimba
Three cows were sacrificed for a korban ceremony organised by the residents of RPN Kampong Rimba on Thursday.
The ceremony was held at the residence of Acting Penghulu of Mukim Gadong ‘A’ Haji Julkepli bin Haji Ibrahim and saw the korban meat distributed to 48 underprivileged individuals and 130 residents of the village. – James Kon
