A step towards greener future

A memorandum of understanding was signed between Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sdn Bhd (BSM) and QAF Auto Sdn Bhd during the Brunei Smart Mobility Expo in Jerudong yesterday.

The partnership between Shell Recharge and BMW aims to meet the growing uptake of electric vehicles (EVs) in the Sultanate.

The collaboration will see BMW EV owners have access to home charger assessments and installation services as well as the use of Shell Recharge charging points.

BSM Managing Director Muhammad Norshafiee bin Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil said the partnership is the beginning of the company’s vision for a future with EVs and encourages other car dealers to consider joining the collaboration.

QAF Auto General Manager Alisa Khoo, meanwhile, said the partnership is part of the longstanding BMW-Shell global partnership. BMW has launched three EVs this year – BMW iX3, BMW iX and BMW i7 – and more are expected next year.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Transport) at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications Haji Mohd Salihin bin Haji Aspar witnessed the signing ceremony.
