A 2NE1 re-YG-nion?

SEOUL (ANN/THE KOREA HERALD) – K-pop icons 2NE1 recently met with Yang Hyun-suk, the founder of YG Entertainment, fueling speculation about a potential comeback marking their 15th debut anniversary.

According to YG Entertainment, all four members – CL, Sandara Park, Park Bom, and Minzy – convened with Yang at the agency’s Seoul headquarters. This marked their first meeting in eight years, where they engaged in meaningful discussions that spanned over two hours.

Debuting under YG Entertainment in 2009, 2NE1 achieved immense success with hits like “Fire,” “I Don’t Care,” and “Ugly” before disbanding in November 2016.

Their last single, “Good Bye,” was released in January 2017.

In a surprising move, 2NE1 reunited as a full unit at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2022, their first performance together in seven years.

While discussions hinted at the possibility of a new project, YG Entertainment clarified that no specific plans were finalised during this initial reunion after eight years.

They expressed optimism for a positive announcement soon, emphasising Yang’s fondness for 2NE1 and acknowledging the group’s visit with undisclosed requests.
