Raja Isteri Pengiran

Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge

Opened in conjunction with the

GoldenJubileeofHisMajesty’saccession

to the throne in 2017, the Raja Isteri

Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge links

the capital to Kampong Sungai Kebun.

The bridge was built to cut travelling

time fromthecapital toKampongSungai

Kebun and boost socio-economic

development in the areas surrounding

the mukim.

Prior to the bridge’s completion,

residents of the mukim who needed to

get to their workplaces or send their

children to school in the capital had to

travel at least 30km and pass through

Jalan Bengkurong-Masin and Jalan

Tutong or take alternative routes. During

peak hours, the journey used to take 40

minutes to one hour.

Already the opening of the Raja Isteri

Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge has

created positive economic impacts.

Land prices in and around the mukim

have since increased threefold, and

many businesses have shown interest

in further developing the land in Mukim

Lumapas and establishing industries

and businesses in the area.
