94 swimmers compete in KB tournament

Ninety-four swimmers as young as five competed in the Belait District Swimming Tournament at the Mumong Sports Complex yesterday.

The Belait District Branch of the Youth and Sports Department organised the tournament for the first time to help develop and train the next generation of swimmers and build the spirit of sportsmanship among the youth.

The swimmers competed against each other in their respective categories including freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, and front kick with board, with races also broken down into the respective age groups of six and below, seven to nine, 10 to 12, as well as 13 and above.

The tournament culminated in a freestyle mixed relay race in the afternoon for swimmers aged six and under, seven to nine, and 10 to 12 years old.
