40 teams compete in maritime quest

The Maritime Quest on November 21, day three of the Brunei Darussalam Maritime Week (BDMW), attracted 40 teams and 80 participants.

Contestants, grouped in teams of two, faced a series of maritime-themed challenges, designed to promote learning about the maritime industry, its key players, and potential career opportunities.

Among the participants were diverse teams, including two mother-daughter pairs, a teacher and student, as well as several groups from exhibitors and schools that attended BDMW.

Some participants were as young as eight years old, demonstrating the event’s broad appeal across age groups.

Organised as part of the ongoing BDMW celebrations, the competition was held within BRIDEX Hall 1 and aimed to honour Brunei’s maritime heritage and innovations.

Participants navigated through various clues, each reflecting the maritime industry’s significance and Brunei’s evolving role in global maritime affairs. The event concluded with the top team receiving an exclusive RAID Open Water Learn to Dive course, sponsored by Poni Divers. The prize, for two participants, offered a unique opportunity to explore the underwater wonders of Brunei.

Poni Marine, a key supporter of BDMW, proudly hosted the Maritime Quest, reinforcing its commitment to initiatives that inspire maritime exploration and education within the community.
