4 S’poreans nabbed for suspected drug trafficking of drugs valued over SGD619,000

SINGAPORE (ANN/THE STRAITS TIMES) – On March 4, two separate raids led to the arrest of four Singaporeans suspected of drug trafficking, resulting in the seizure of drugs valued at over SGD619,000.

In the first operation in the early evening of March 4, Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers raided a room in a hotel near Havelock Road.

On March 6, CNB reported that a 21-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man were apprehended after possessing approximately 340g of heroin, 103g of Ecstasy, 27g of Ice, and five Erimin-5 tablets.

Cash amounting to SGD9,180 and MYR711 was also found on them.

In their rented vehicle parked at the hotel’s carpark, CNB officers found 2,758g of heroin and 515g of Ice.

In another raid later that day, a 27-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were arrested in the carpark of a commercial property near Kaki Bukit Road 3.

The man was brought to his hideout, a unit in the same building, where a search uncovered 4.99kg of cannabis, 279g of ketamine, 222g of Ice, 115g of Ecstasy, and 250 LSD stamps. Multiple vape devices, cartridges, and edibles believed to have THC, a key psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, were likewise confiscated.

CNB officers also found 11g of Ice when searching a car driven by the woman.

    Investigations are ongoing.

CNB said the drugs seized could feed about 2,630 abusers for a week.

The bureau stated that it is a crime to traffic or propose trafficking a controlled drug for oneself or for someone else, regardless of whether that other person is in Singapore, just as it is to prepare to traffic a controlled drug or to offer to do so.

Anyone found guilty of trafficking more than 15g of pure heroin, 250g of Ice or 500g of cannabis may face the mandatory death penalty.
