1,831 speedsters take part in Brunei’s Olympic Day

A total of 1,831 individuals participated in the annual World Olympic Day organised by the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) in collaboration with the Department of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, organised the 2024 Olympic Day Run held at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ’Ali Saifuddien on Sunday.

The event is celebrated every year on June 23.

The Olympic Day Run event was attended by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad, as well as Special and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors and High Commissioners in Brunei Darussalam.

The Olympic Day Run was divided into seven different categories based on gender and age groups, namely Category 1: 1.8km Boys Under 12 (U-12); Category 2: 1.8km Girls Under 12 (U-12); Category 3: 1.8km Persons with Disabilities; Category 4: 3km Male Veterans Age 60 and above; Category 5: 3km Female Veterans Age 60 and above; Category 6: 5km Men Open; and Category 7: 5km Women Open.
