Some 180 boys from across the Belait District were feted in a Doa Selamat and Dikir ceremony to receive blessings for the circumcision procedures.
The ceremony, organised by Suri Seri Begawan Hospital in Kuala Belait through the Surgical Outpatient Department (SOPD) and Podiatry Unit, was attended by the hospital’s Acting Chief Executive Officer Mohamad Alikhan bin Haji Mohd Yakop.
The ceremony started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Head of the Religious Unit at the hospital Ali Omar bin Haji Mohd Yussof, followed by a speech from the acting chief executive officer.
A short briefing was delivered by SOPD nurse Haji Mohammad Kamsani bin Haji Abdul Khamis on the circumcision procedure.
The recitation of Dikir Marhaban was held, with scented oil and bunga rampai sprinkled onto the participating boys by the guests. – Daniel Lim
