Some 150 people participated in the Rehlah Ilmiyah Programme and 1446 Hijrah Walkathon at Kampong Bengkurong Mosque yesterday.

Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Hardifadhillah bin Haji Mohd Salleh was the guest of honour.

The event began with mass Subuh prayer followed by a Tazkirah Subuh titled ‘Memelihara Akal, Masyarakat Sejahtera’ by Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) Assistant Religious Development Officer Ahmad Muzhafar bin Haji Marsidi.

Participants included youth from the MoRA Youth Religious Programme registered under the PDI, the Mosque Affairs Department, the Department of Youth and Sports at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, students from higher learning institutions as well as the public.

The programme’s objectives include diversifying the dakwah methodology to the youth in alignment with the current trends, building Malay Islamic Monarchy-oriented self-identity and inculcating love for mosques.

It also aims to educate youth to be active in charitable activities and contribute to the mosque and produce disciplined and responsible youth.
