Brunei, Indonesian universities forge stronger academic ties

The Faculty of Usuluddin (FoU) at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) welcomed a delegation from the State Institute of Islamic Religion (IAIN) Kudus, Indonesia recently.

The visit focused on discussing a memorandum of agreement (MoA) between the institutions.

The session also included a discussion on potential joint research projects with a UNISSA Centre for the Promotion of Knowledge and Language lecturer Dr Mariam binti Abdul Rahman.

The visit aimed to strengthen the collaboration between UNISSA and IAIN Kudus, paving the way for closer cooperation in various academic fields.

The university is committed to advancing partnerships with higher education institutions, both regionally and globally to promote the development of Islamic education in the Sultanate. The Indonesian delegation was led by IAIN Kudus Dean of Usuluddin Faculty Professor Dato’ Dr Mohd Fakhrudin bin Abdul Mukti, UNISSA FoU Deputy Dean Dr Haji Ahmad Baha bin Haji Mokhtar, FoU’s graduate programme head Dr Elsayed Abdalla Amin, FoU’s undergraduate programme head Dr Hajah Masuriyati binti Haji Yahya and Dr Hafini bin Haji Mahmud from the Public and International Relations Centre at UNISSA. – Azlan Othman
