As part of its corporate social responsibility, AFC Berhad yesterday handed over a donation of BND5,037 to Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA) to support children and individuals with needs.
The donation, raised by AFC’s management, staff and members, was presented by AFC manager Sophia Tan and received by YASKA President Tsara’ Nawwarah binti Abdullah Chen on behalf of the foundation.
Meanwhile, a community food sale at Mabohai Shopping Complex, organised by Britain Brunei Business Forum (BBBF), also raised money for YASKA.
BBBF Chair Pengiran Aki Ismasufian bin Pengiran Haji Ibrahim handed over BND4,362 to YASKA president in the presence of Deputy British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Catherine Pochkhanavala-Cleeve and BBBF executive committee members.
The proceeds, surpassing the initial goal of BND4,000, reflect the generosity and support from local businesses, individuals, and the community. Pengiran Aki Ismasufian commented that the funds raised are a reflection of the community’s kindness and unwavering support for YASKA.
“This event reflects BBBF’s commitment to not only fostering business networks but also supporting important community initiatives that make a real difference. We hope this contribution will bring meaningful support to children undergoing treatment for cancer and their families.” Tsara’ Nawwarah added that these funds will go a long way in supporting YASKA’s initiatives to provide care, programmes, and comfort to children living with cancer. – Lyna Mohamad
