Workplace wellness takes centre stage

The World Mental Health Day 2024 Awareness Forum hosted by the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) featured a panel discussion on key mental health challenges faced in the workplace and an Islamic perspective on mental health.

Speakers included Clinical Psychologist and Mental Health Strategy Lead at the Health Promotion Centre (HPC), Ministry of Health Nor Syahmun binti Haji Matassan and Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali Deputy Dean of the Student Affairs Office Haji Mohammad Khairul Nazif bin Haji Damit.

The event, themed ‘Mental Health in the Workplace’ was held at the HPC and marked AITI’s second mental health awareness forum.

It aimed to enhance awareness, promote effective mental health management, prioritise employees’ well-being, and reduce stigma and negative perceptions surrounding mental health.

AITI also introduced its Wellness Programme, an initiative designed to provide additional support in managing employees’ mental health in the workplace to build a sustainable, high performing organisation that supports both employees and organisational goals.

The event was attended by AITI’s Senior Leadership Team and employees. – Lyna Mohamad
