Wisdom Bowls Club set to participate in Kuala Lumpur meet

Two teams representing Wisdom Bowls Club (WBC) left the country to participate in the Classic Triples Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia held from today to Sunday.

Some 112 teams from across Malaysia and other teams from the region will be vying for top honours in the annual championship.

Club President Johari Achee informed the players that it is important for them to strive in maintaining and improving their skill in the game as lawn bowls at one time contributed in making a name for the country. He said it is therefore paramount that they should take the opportunity in taking part in competitions in assessing their own standard and that of their foreign counterparts.

He added that it is an exposure as the sport is still having a foothold in the country while supporting continuous government efforts in creating and promoting awareness that sports contributed in the betterment of society.

The two teams comprised both budding young players and senior players.

The group of six WBC players is led by the club’s head coach Haji Abdul Ghafar bin Pehin Orang Kaya Laksamana Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Taha.
