Team FABS were the men’s team winners of the Squash Championship in conjunction with the 76th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the National Squash Centre of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex last night.
The team comprising Lim Kok Sheng, Fauzi Zaini and Alex Yong defeated Wall Beaters in the final.
The Drop Shots comprising Hamidah Ismail, Dayangku Shikin and Azrenna emerged winners in the Women’s Team category while The Powerpuff Girls settled for a runners-up finish.
Meanwhile, Lim Kok Sheng won the Men’s Open category after sealing a 11-7 9-11 11-6 11-7 victory over Pengiran Hasnan in the final.
In the Women’s Open category, Hamidah Ismail emerged champion after defeating Nidah Jormasie 11-8 11-5 11-1. Acting Director of Youth and Sports Haji Mohamad Rosfazilah bin Haji Yusly presented the prizes to the winners.
The tournament was organised by the Brunei Squash Rackets Association (BSRA).
