Vietnam, Brunei discuss halal industry collaboration

The Veterans Association of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (PERWIRA) recently visited the Vietnam Embassy in Brunei Darussalam to strengthen bilateral ties and explore collaboration in the halal industry.

The delegation, led by PERWIRA President Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Ramli bin Haji Abdul Hadis and Secretary-General Major (Rtd) Rosnani binti Haji Ismail, met with Ambassador of Vietnam to Brunei Darussalam Tran Anh Vu and Deputy Defence Attache Colonel Trinh Ke Van.

The meeting focused on promoting veteran entrepreneurs and private sector partnerships.

The delegation proposed establishing the VECONAC Business Centre VARBAF, promoting IHTHS-BRUWIRA’s halal products, and exploring small-scale trade and investment opportunities.

The ambassador highlighted the importance of private sector involvement in halal cooperation, referencing a recent meeting between His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Laos. – James Kon
