University inks MoU for logistics research and development with port company

Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and Muara Port Company Sdn Bhd (MPC) yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish collaborations in areas of shared interest.

Acting Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) and Dean of UTB School of Business Dr Fadzilwati binti Mohiddin said, “Our engagement will enhance innovations, revise curricula, adapt students to the needs of the industry and promote education centres as focal points in industries,” adding that it would also promote entrepreneurial activities among students to contribute as catalysts of innovation.

The MoU outlines cooperation, such as financial sponsorships, in areas including internship and research and development projects related to business, engineering, logistics and other relevant fields.

The MoU also outlines staff capability building as mutually agreed by both parties and participation in consultation exercises conducted by the UTB School of Business’ Industry Advisory Committee.

UTB Assistant Vice-Chancellor (External and Industry Relations) Dr Mohamad Saiful bin Haji Omar and MPC Chief Financial Officer Lyu Guoli signed for their organisations.
