Understanding divine vaccine in relation to modern healthcare

Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) held the ‘Understanding of Divine Vaccine and Religious SOP Education’ seminar at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas yesterday.

The one-day seminar was held to disseminate information on the importance of divine vaccine and religious standard operating procedures (SOPs) and their relations to modern healthcare.

Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud attended the talk.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Asmma Ul-Husna, singing of national anthem and a welcoming address from KUPU SB Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar.

In line with the theme ‘The Practice of Divine Vaccine and Religious SOP Manifestation of Zikir Nation’, the seminar also aimed to enhance understanding on vaccine and its importance in dealing with the pandemic from the perspective of Syariah and modern medicine.

The seminar also emphasised on the need to practise Sunnah as a way of life.
Deputy State Mufti Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Japar bin Haji Mat Dain @ Maidin delivered a paper at the opening of the seminar.

Ustaz Dr Haji Abdul Somad Batubara delivered a special lecture on ‘The Greatness of Divine Vaccine Approach and Religious SOPs in Facing the Epidemic,’ broadcast online.

Participants also heard two speakers from Malaysia deliver the main papers.

Imam Besar of Sultan Ahmad I State Mosque in Kuantan, Pahang discussed ‘The Application of Divine Vaccines and Religious SOPs in Families and Communities in Facing the Epidemic: Holistic Education Guided by Al-Quran and As-Sunnah,’ while Penang Consumer Association (Malaysia) Research Officer Hatijah binti Hashim spoke on ‘Cabaran Pengguna Muslim Menghadapi Wabak COVID-19: Pengalaman Malaysia’.

KUPU SB Fiqh Al-Usrah Research Centre Director Hilman bin Haji Salim moderated both sessions.

The seminar was held in conjunction with the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition 2022 (Brunei MYCE 2022) held by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, through the Tourism Development Department.
