Haslina highlighted the importance to keep up with the change driven by technologies of the Industrial Revolution and that both education and professional developments play an important role in fulfilling the skills shortage in information technology (IT).

Dynamik Technologies launched the Headstart Programme in 2021, to develop industry-ready graduates who will be fully equipped to perform in the workplace.

“We are pleased to share that the first batch of ‘Headstart’ from UBD have achieved the SAP Certified Development Specialist in Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP), qualifying them to be a part of an international workforce of SAP certified professionals.

“We are so proud of them being able to balance their work and studies in order to achieve their certification and look forward to their continuous contribution to Dynamik Technologies and our nation.” Meanwhile, UBD School of Digital Science Dean Professor Dr Liyanage Chandratilak De Silva in his welcoming speech, said that the programme has been tailored for any “second-year Bachelor of Digital Science students to earn 16 modular credits by completing various courses under the ‘Headstart’ programme where they will receive practical training, on-the-job experience, and a monthly stipend while pursuing their Bachelor of Digital Science”.

Headstarters will receive their degree upon graduation and possess internationally-recognised certifications in their relevant field of choice: change management, project management and IT service management as well as given a conditional offer to work with Dynamik for four years upon successfully fulfilling the terms and conditions.

‘Headstarter’ graduate from the first batch Nadeeya Norjemee shared her insights on how the programme has equipped her with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with her colleagues.

“Being in this dynamic work environment has provided me with the opportunity to observe how different teams work together on projects, which has been an invaluable learning experience,” said Nadeeya.

“Additionally, I have had the privilege of working under a skilled supervisor who has taught me the importance of leadership qualities such as active listening and problem-solving,” she added.

Another first batch Headstarter, Radin Mas Halimahtul Amyza binti Radin Mas Emran said the Headstart programme has honed her soft skills, particularly in the areas of communication, time management, teamwork and adaptability.

“I believe that these skills will prove to be essential in my professional growth and enable me to become a valuable member of Dynamik Technologies,” she said.

Radin Mas Halimahtul Amyza said that she now knows where to stand in her long-term career aspirations as an IT developer and expressed her desire to continue developing her skills and knowledge. – Lyna Mohamad
