Two Seventeen members halt group activities

K-pop sensation Seventeen will temporarily promote as a 10-member group while Jeonghan prepares for military service and Jun focuses on his acting career in China during the second half of this year.

Pledis Entertainment, Seventeen’s agency, announced on Monday via the global K-pop fan platform Weverse that Jeonghan is scheduled to fulfill his mandatory military service later this year. As a result, he will be unable to participate in the promotion of the group’s 12th mini album or the “Seventeen [Right Here] World Tour,” which kicks off in October.

“Most of Jeonghan’s prescheduled content has been completed, but he will not be able to join the group’s upcoming promotions,” Pledis stated. However, Jeonghan will still attend previously announced fan signing events and perform at Lollapalooza Berlin in September, giving him a final opportunity to connect with Carats, Seventeen’s dedicated fanbase, before his enlistment.

The agency also noted that additional details regarding Jeonghan’s military service will be shared in due course.

Meanwhile, Jun will be focusing on acting and other activities in China during the latter half of the year. Although Jun has completed recording for scheduled content, conflicting commitments in China mean he will not be able to join Lollapalooza Berlin, the mini album’s music show promotions, or the group’s world tour.

“Jun is strongly committed to group activities, and while he will miss the world tour, he plans to participate in as many scheduled events as possible where he can connect with Carats,” Pledis Entertainment said.
