Trip showcases Muslim-friendly activities

The Taiwan Tourism Administration KL Office recently organised a familiarisation trip with travel trade partners and media from the Sultanate to encourage more Muslims to visit Taiwan and discover hidden gems firsthand.

Some 13 travel agents and radio representatives as well as influencers participated in the five-day trip. Royal Brunei Airlines provided the flights while the trip was co-hosted by Taiwan Tourism Information Centre in Brunei and Merry Tour from Hualien, Taiwan.

Guests toured Taipei, Hualien and Taitung to visit the East Coast National Scenic Area, hot springs, aborigines’ culture, night markets, tea culture and coastal ecology experience.

The Tourism Department of Hualien and Tourism Department of Taitung hosted a welcoming B2B dinner allowing guests to exchange industry knowledge, foster business growth and share latest developments in travel demand.

The Salam Taiwan Fam trip focuses on Muslim-friendly food and beverages, hotels, and prayer rooms in public areas.

Taiwan Tourism Administration KL Office Director Abe Chou said, “Brunei is an important market for Muslim visitors to Taiwan. Taiwan Tourism hopes that the experience from this trip will encourage Brunei travel agents and media to experience and showcase our tourism products first-hand; and continue our joint effort in making Taiwan as a destination of choice for Muslim visitors.”
