The public recently praised a traffic police officer for his exemplary act of assisting a senior citizen struggling to change a flat tyre on the highway.
Haji Ali explained that he was driving along the Tutong to Jerudong highway with his family member, Haji Rosli, when they had to stop due to a flat tyre. However, they were both struggling to change it.
The incident occurred at around 6pm. A traffic police officer on patrol noticed the two senior citizens trying to change the tyre in a dangerous location. The officer quickly took action to ensure their safety and maintain the flow of traffic, and helped them change the tyre.
Passers-by who witnessed the incident praised the officer’s efficiency and sincerity. They commented that the officer’s actions demonstrated not only his duty as a law enforcer, looking after the safety and well-being of the community, but also his caring nature.
Both senior citizens expressed their gratitude and thanks for the officer’s assistance. They said it reflected the humanitarian values and professionalism of the police force and hoped that this spirit of concern would continue to be an example to everyone, encouraging them to help those in need on the road, especially senior citizens and women. – Lyna Mohamad
