Top five blood donors Haji Abdullah bin Haji Munchit, Haji Moksin bin Haji Karim, Haji Rosli bin Haji Abd Ghani, Major Haji Idris bin OKMB Haji Othman and Tung Yiu Hung were awarded with special plaques at a blood donation drive organised by Mabohai Shopping Complex yesterday.
Held in conjunction with World Blood Donor Day 2023 at the Mabohai Shopping Complex in collaboration with the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre, the event served as a platform to acknowledge the donors and inspire others to follow suit.
Leading the list was Haji Abdullah who had donated 190 times followed by Haji Moksin 176 times.
Major Haji Idris recorded 158 donations while Haji Rosli and Tung Yiu Hung each had donated 156 times.
“Their achievements cover decades of consistent donations, with some of them having started as early as the age of 19. We hope they will inspire generations to continue this act of charity,” said Mabohai Shopping Complex Manager Yee-Man Cheng.
She also thanked the RIPAS Hospital Blood Donation Centre for making the drives possible and the event sponsors for the prizes for lucky blood donors as well as event attendees. – Lyna Mohamad
