TK Tea House continued their march in Group ‘B’ of the You-C1000 Basketball Cup 2022 after defeating Fuzhou Shiyyi Association 100-83 at the Brunei Basketball Association (BBA) Court in Batu Bersurat on Monday night.
The 2021 runners-up – who were beaten by Easyway – registered their second successive victory following their 91-81 win over Fateh Sdn Bhd on the opening day of the tournament.
TK Tea House’s Earl Medina proved to be the leading scorer for his team after bagging 26 points.
His teammates Francis Juelar Jonathan Doles also recorded double digits with 22 and 17 points, the former of whom laid six treys on the score-sheet.
Despite ending on the losing side, Fuzhou Shiyyi Association’s Lim Liang Wei made an outstanding effort after recording 44 points, the most points in a single game in the tournament thus far.
Meanwhile, GHK moved a step closer towards clinching the women’s open category after edging Le Doux Patisserie 53-50 in the division’s opening game.
The competition continues tonight with Fateh Sdh Bhd looking to bounce back against Pegasus while Propel Services & Trading will meet GHK in the women’s open category in a later tip-off.
Fateh staged a deep run in last year’s edition after reaching the semi-finals, which also pitted eventual winners Easyway, TK Tea House and Yi’s Nation.
