Three families yesterday received financial assistance from the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam through provision under the Community Development Department (JAPEM) of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS).
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin presented the financial assistance at the lecture hall of Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
The recipients were representatives from three incidents – Pengiran Haji Muhd Hazri bin Pengiran Haji Johari’s wooden house in Kampong Pengkalan Sibabau collapsed on February 22; Jalinah Sam Hamid’s residence in Kampong Sungai Besar collapsed on February 27; and Hajah Asmah binti Haji Tamin’s house in Kampong Sungai Tampoi was gutted by fire on February 27. The heads of families received financial assistance to ease their burdens. It also showed His Majesty’s care for the well-being of his citizens and residents in times of crisis.
