Thailand hospital to further cooperate with MoH

BNH Hospital in Bangkok Thailand is looking at further forging cooperation and sharing of best practices with the Ministry of Health (MoH).

During an interview with the Bulletin, BNH Hospital Director Dr Nopparat Panthongwiriyakul visiting the Child Development Centre (CDC) yesterday said, “We have been working with MoH, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital and Jerudong Park Medical Center (JPMC) since 2015 and we signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate and care patients together.”

BNH Hospital, Bangkok, the first private international hospital in Thailand, is one of the oldest hospitals in Bangkok offers a range of medical services to both local and international patients.

Dr Nopparat Panthongwiriyakul added, “Thailand has a huge population, while Brunei has a small population, therefore to have treatment of complicated cases is not easy. At the time, Brunei was lacking health specialists, so we worked together to help obtain treatment for patients in our hospital. The Thais and the Bruneians are quite similar, so we are very happy to assist Brunei’s patients.”

However, he said, “The arrangement came to a halt for three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are back now and happy to see our friends again.”

The delegation from BNH Hospital in the Sultanate since Monday, met with the Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar.

He added, “There are many best practices to learn from Brunei like the CDC for children with disabilities. The facilities as well as specialists from JPMC and The Brunei Cancer Centre are very well equipped to take care of patients.”
