Teng Yun Temple (To’Kong China Brunei Darussalam) yesterday called on the public to disregard a statement published on August 19 regarding the excavation and transfer of tombs.
The Chinese temple in a statement said, “With reference to Brunei and Muara District Office letter ref:JDB/TD/49/2PT.1(C) dated on September 16, the existing Chinese Cemetery located on a private land (Lot 118,EDR 1267) is to be gazzette as a non-Islamic (Chinese) cemetery is under the responsibility of the Brunei-Muara District Office and does not involve any excavation and transfer of any tombs at Kampong Lupak Luas, Mukim Sungai Kebun. – James Kon
