Residents of a number of villages in the Temburong District were briefed on current issues and government policies by a number of agencies recently.
This included cybersecurity threats and how to address them by Cyber Security Brunei; the Unified Smart Metering System (USMS) by the Department of Electrical Services and DST Network Sdn Bhd; guidelines on how to settle outstanding bills for conventional water meters by the Department of Water Services; and the procedures for authorisation and application for agricultural plots by the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood.
The briefing was organised by the Information Department through its Face-to-Face programme. Residents from Kampong Selangan, Kampong Parit and Kampong Biang Menengah attended.
Senior information officer Haji Fathi Foad bin Dato Seri Setia Haji Abu Bakar, who also heads the district branch of the Information Department, led the delegation.
He noted that the Face-to-Face programme aims at enhancing two-way communication between the government and the people, providing information and receiving feedback from the community.
Acting Village Head of Kampong Selangan, Kampong Parit, and Kampong Biang Menengah Dulamit bin Burot expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the opportunity to raise issues and problems faced by the villagers.
The programme concluded with a question-and-answer session on the issues raised by the villagers, including those related to safety, infrastructure, economy, public facilities and welfare. – Fadley Faisal
