The Teeyem Group of Companies and its founder, Al Haji TM Badarudeen, held their annual donation ceremony on Tuesday at TM Majeed Supermarket, Kilanas. The event, part of the group’s corporate social responsibility efforts, also served as its zakat distribution to support the less fortunate.
Presenting the donations to the underprivileged, including orphans and single mothers residing in Mukim Kilanas, was the Village Head of Kampung Kilanas, Haji Mohamed Ameerolbahrynee bin Haji Abdul Hamid, alongside the General Manager, Mr Mohamed Ferose Khan, and the Teeyem Group Management.
The ceremony commenced with the recital of Doa, led by Imam Haji Kamaluddin bin Haji Abdul Rahim from Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Silver Jubilee Mosque, Jangsak.
Now in its 17th year, the annual donation ceremony aims to ease the burden of orphans and those in need as they prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya festivities, while also marking the fasting month of Ramadhan.
Each recipient received a bag of essential food items worth BND 65, a bag of fragrant rice, a carton of soft drinks, and a large bottle of cooking oil, ensuring they have staple provisions for the festive season. – Lyna Mohamad
