    Students head to United States for internship

    Five undergraduate students from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Faculty of Engineering, School of Computing and Informatics, and School of Business left the Sultanate for a six-month internship programme hosted by the Piper Aircraft Inc (Piper) in Florida, the United States (US) under the UTB ExperiencePLUS programme.

    The group is the eighth internship cohort to Piper since the educational partnership between UTB and Piper began in 2013.

    The students are Chang Jin Herng, Sonia binti Abdullah Jamaris, Nur Amera Aqilah binti Noor’ Ash, Muhammad Danial Fakhrul Rizqy bin Haji Bakar, and Nur Ameera Syafina binti Haji Ariffin.

    They have excelled in their academic records and performed exceptionally well throughout a rigorous selection process conducted by Piper and UTB.

    Students will gain industry exposure and enhance their practical and industrial experiences as part of their undergraduate degree studies at Piper.

    The students will also be monitored by UTB through submissions of progress reports. UTB and Piper signed a memorandum of understanding on the internship programme in 2013.

    Piper, one of the major aircraft manufacturers in the general aviation industry, is fully owned by Brunei Ministry of Finance and Economy and headquartered in Vero Beach, Florida.
