Students explore sustainability and climate change

Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (Maktab Duli) held a Climate Change Awareness Day at its Student Learning and Services Centre yesterday.

Organised by the Geography Department, the event aimed to deepen students’ understanding of climate change, highlighting its impact on daily life and the importance of individual and collective action toward environmental preservation.

The day’s programme featured a mini-exhibition displaying climate-related projects developed by students and a climate pledge-writing session led by principal Dayangku Hajah Nooramaliatifah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad, encouraging students to commit to sustainable practices in their everyday lives.

The event’s message of environmental stewardship was further underscored through a prize presentation, recognising the winners of Fruit Day and Junk Art competitions, both focusing on promoting waste reduction and creative reuse.

Interactive activities, including United Nations Sustainable Development Goals games and a Recycle Drive final collection, provided students hands-on opportunities to explore sustainability concepts. – Fadley Faisal
