The dikir delegation from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) continued the Ihya Maulidur Rasul ceremony at the Kampong Labu Estate Mosque, Temburong District on Thursday in conjunction with the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) celebration for 1446 Hijrah.

The ceremony aims to receive blessings from Allah the Almighty and honour the Prophet’s (pbuh) efforts in spreading Islam. It also follows the Islamic teaching of supporting the mosque and helps strengthen the bond among MoRA officials, mosque members and villagers. Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religion) at the MoRA Dr Haji Hardifadhillah bin Haji Mohd Salleh led the group.

Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir, Acting Temburong District Officer Hasan Baha bin Haji Umar and Head of Temburong District Religious Officer Haris Hamdillah bin Haji Masri were also present.

The MoRA Dikir group’s next ceremony will be held at Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampong Kiarong tomorrow with the dikir closing ceremony of 12 consecutive nights for mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide. – Azlan Othman

Istana Nurul Iman

Delegations from the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT), Kampong Madang Village Consultative Council, the Council of Women of Brunei Darussalam (WBD), mosque youth of Kampong Belimbing Mosque, and religious teachers in Brunei-Muara Zone IIB participated in a Dikir Maulud ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman on Thursday in conjunction with the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for 1446 Hijrah.

Mosque affairs officer Pengiran Haji Mohd Hafizuddin bin Pengiran Haji Bakar led a mass Isyak prayer, as well as the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Al-Quran verses.

A tazkirah on ‘Malu Rasulullah SAW’ was delivered by religious development officer from the Islamic Da’wah Centre Isham bin Ismail in the male area, while Hajah ‘Aqilah Mukarramah binti Haji Salleh delivered a similar talk in the female area.

The ceremony also saw the recitation of Dikir Assalamualaika, Dikir Khairuman, Dikir Bisyahrin, Dikir Alhamdu and Dikir Badat, as well as mosque affairs officer Haji Muhd Azrol Alim bin Haji Zaini leading the recitation of Doa Dikir and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Ministry of Home Affairs

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) continued its Dikir Maulud ceremony in the Belait District at Zainab Mosque on Thursday, in conjunction with the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for 1446 Hijrah.

Muhammad Saufi bin Haji Ibrahim was present on behalf of Deputy Permanent Secretary (Laws, International and Research) at the MoHA.

Legislative Council members Yang Berhormat Haji Mohd Salleh bin Haji Othman as the Mukim Bukit Sawat Penghulu and Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann as Kampong Bukit Sawat Village Head, MoHA officials, penghulus, village heads and mosque takmir committee members were also present. – Daniel Lim

Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam Secondary School alumni

Alumni of the Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam (SMJA) Secondary School first English-medium intake 1975-1978 and the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (SHHB) Jubli Perak Mosque takmir committee members participated in a Dikir Maulud ceremony at the mosque’s premises in Kampong Jangsak recently.

The activity, part of the alumni’s annual calendar since its establishment in 2016, aimed to enliven and commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for 1446 Hijrah, while strengthening unity through spiritual and religious activities. The ceremony commenced with a mass Maghrib prayer, followed by SHHB Jubli Perak Mosque imam Haji Kamaluddin bin Haji Abdul Rahim leading the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah.

The event followed with the recitation of Dikir Syarafil Anam with the mosque’s takmir committee members performing Dikir Assalamualaika, while the alumni led the Dikir Khairuman.

After a mass Isyak prayer, the alumni group lauded Dikir Bisyahrin (Udana Laila) and the committee members performed Dikir Marhaban.

The ceremony concluded with Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam. – Rokiah Mahmud

Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque

Some 90 congregants, comprising Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque takmir committee members, Al-Quran and Muqaddam teachers and students at the mosque joined a dikir ceremony yesterday in conjunction with the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for 1446 Hijrah.

Mohamad Imar Afiq Hasyir bin Haji Ismail led the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by Ahmad Hisyamuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahim leading the recitation of Dikir Assalamualaika, Dikir Bisyahrin and Dikir Asyraqal, and Haji Mohd Halidi bin Haji Juni reciting Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.

The event aims to enliven and glorify the Maulidur Rasul celebration through religious ceremonies, while also producing members of the community who are familiar with dikir tunes. – Lyna Mohamad

Islamic Da’wah Centre

The Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) through its Tutong District Dakwah Unit held a Malam Mencintai Rasul ceremony at its office premises on Thursday, marking one of the celebrations with converts and non-Muslims in conjunction with the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for 1446 Hijrah.

The ceremony began with a mass Maghrib prayer and guest of honour Acting Tutong District Officer Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri leading the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah.

Assistant religious development officer at the Tutong District Dakwah Unit Hajah Siti Norasiah binti Haji Asli delivered a religious talk on ‘Mengapa Kita Perlu Mencintai Rasulullah’.

The event also saw the recitations of Selawat Tafrijiyyah, Qasidah Tolama Ashku, Qasidah Ya Hananan and Dikir Asyraqal and concluded with Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam and a mass Isyak prayer.

PDI assistant director Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin Haji Abdul Rahman and PDI officers and staff were also present.

The ceremony not only celebrates Maulidur Rasul, but also promotes Islamic teachings to the community, especially converts and non-Muslims, encouraging them to appreciate and express love for the Prophet (pbuh). – Lyna Mohamad
