In conjunction with the celebration of Maulidur Rasul 1446 Hijrah, the Sultanate is hosting various religious activities nationwide.
Among the most spiritually significant is the recitation of dikir and selawat in ‘Rambut Mulia Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wassalam’ Gallery at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (BKISHHB).
The gallery is open to visitors from September 5 to October 3.
The BKISHHB also extended opportunities to the public to participate in the recitation of Dikir Syarafil Anam and selawat at the gallery, as part of the Maulidur Rasul celebration.
The spiritual platform has been eagerly embraced by various sectors, including government ministries, higher learning institutions, mosque takmir committees, and associations, all seeking the blessings that glorifies the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) birth anniversary.
A group of students from the Faculty of Islamic Development Management (FPPI) of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) organised a recitation of Dikir Syarafil Anam at the gallery.
The experience left a profound impact on them, especially Muhammad Hirze Wafiq bin Haji Hazman, a first-year FPPI student.
It was his first visit to the gallery, and he expressed his awe and reverence in being able to recite dikir and selawat before the sacred relic.
Muhammad Hirze Wafiq emphasised the importance of Muslim youth in taking advantage of these precious moments provided by BKISHHB to actively participate in glorifying and honouring the Maulidur Rasul celebration.
He reflected on the unique role that the Sultanate, as a Zikir Nation, plays in fostering a deep devotion to the Prophet (pbuh), where continuous remembrance and reverence are woven into the national identity. For him, the recitation of dikir and selawat serves not only as a means to seek blessings but also as a hopeful plea for the Prophet (pbuh) intercession (Syafaat) on the Day of Judgement.
Muhammad Hirze Wafiq uses this experience to encourage his fellow youth to learn and appreciate Dikir Syarafil Anam as it would enable them to participate more actively in Dikir Maulidur Rasul ceremonies and preserve this rich tradition for future generations.
Similarly, Abd Hafiz bin Haji Abdul Kadiroshman, a teaching staff member of the Dikir Club expressed his pride and honour in leading the dikir recitation. He said the event aligns perfectly with the club’s mission to glorify and uphold the Maulidur Rasul celebration.
Representing the students and faculty, Abd Hafiz encouraged youth to continue sending blessings and expressing their love for the Prophet (pbuh), particularly during the month of Rabiulawal.
He also shared his pride in the enthusiastic participation of students, remarking on the youthful spirit and dedication displayed during the recitations.
Abd Hafiz emphasised the importance of continuing the tradition of learning Dikir Syarafil Anam, which has long been a cherished practice in Brunei.
As a mentor to the younger generation, he expressed a sense of fulfilment in witnessing their commitment to preserving this spiritual heritage.
Abd Hafiz believes that the youth, as future leaders of the country, will ensure that the recitation of dikir and salutations to the Prophet (pbuh) will flourish for generations, keeping the soul of this cherished practice alive.
The recitation of dikir and selawat at the gallery is divided into four sessions: two in the morning and two in the afternoon, allowing visitors ample opportunity to participate.
