Year 6 and 8 students of St Angela’s School in Seria, Belait District had the opportunity to dive deeper into the world of robotics and coding through a science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) workshop.
The workshop, held on October 30 and November 5 at the school’s classrooms, was organised by Gen Tech Learning Centrei.
During the workshop, students engaged in a series of fun and challenging activities. Year 8 students explored the intricacies of motors and robotics, using 3D pens to create keychains and constructing remote-controlled robots. These robots were then put to the test in a robot battle.
Meanwhile, Year 6 students delved into the world of electronics by making paper circuit cards and building sumo robots, which also participated in the robot battle. The workshop provided students with hands-on experience in STEAM, fostering creativity, problem-solving skills and teamwork. Both year groups gained knowledge and skills in technology and innovation, making the event a success. – Daniel Lim
