Tadabbur or the contemplation of its meanings, purposes, and rulings of Al-Quran is not a simple task for just anyone. It requires expertise in Al-Quran studies, religious knowledge and proficiency in Arabic language.
This was said by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned in a premier Tadabbur Al-Quran talk at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Mosque yesterday.
The state mufti said Tadabbur is challenging as it means referring or thinking about the meaning and secrets of the verses that are recited. For example why is the surah called Al-Fatihah, why and what happened when it was revealed.
Deputy State Mufti Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Japar bin Haji Mat Dain @ Maidin, assistant state mufti, lecturers, members of the public, mosque committee members and students from higher institutions were in attendance. Vice-Chancellor of UBD Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle was the chief guest.
The initiative was organised by UBD Spirituality and Community Service Unit (UKKM), Student Affairs Division (HEP) in collaboration with UBD Student Association (PMUBD). – Azlan Othman
