Over 130 children from Belait District and beyond engaged with professional athletes in wushu, table tennis and fencing as part of the Big Kem Project at the Mumong Sports Complex on Sunday.

Held in August and November 2023, the Big Kem Project is a sports camp initiative by JCAD in collaboration with the Belait District Branch of the Youth and Sports Department to help develop the next generation of athletes from an early age.

The camp also includes athletics, tennis, badminton, swimming, pencak silat, taekwondo and karate besides wushu, table tennis and fencing.

Head of Coaching and Sports Development Unit Noorfairuzah Hani binti Haji Zaini @Haji Mohamad, the guest of honour, witnessed the camp in session.

JCAD having organised the sports camp for the third time, hopes that the participants will make use of the basic knowledge gained to further hone their skills in training to become future athletes and lead a healthy lifestyle.

JCAD also thanked Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Perbadanan TAIB) for the sponsorship. – Daniel Lim
