Ahmad Rifa’ie bin Mohammad Fauziee from Belait Sixth Form Centre and Effa Shana Nabilah binti Haji Kipli from the Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah emerged as champions for the Tholib (male student) and Tholibah (female students) categories respectively at the Finals of Tazkirah Competition for Sixth Forms Nationwide 2024.
The competition that was held on Thursday saw eight students, four male and four female – participate in the competition.
Present at the event was Acting Director of Co-Curriculum Education, Department of Co-Curriculum Education, Ministry of Education, Mohammad Norilham bin Haji Jais as guest of honour.
In the male category, second place was won by Muhammad Irfan Fahmi bin Armi from Meragang Sixth Form Centre, and third place went to Muhammad Adam Khairuddin bin Abdullah Muhammad from Tutong Sixth Form Centre.
For the female category, Adrianna Farisha @ Farsha binti Abdul Khalid from Tutong Sixth Form Centre was seated in second place, and Dayangku Nurul Syafiqah binti Pengiran Haji Idris also from the same school named the third winner.
The competition organised by Spiritual Activites Division, Department of Co-Curriculum Education among others aimed to enhance students’ confidence in public speaking, facilitating their ability to deliver presentations and share information effectively.
In addition, the competition also aims to improve students’ communication skills and fluency in delivering knowledge or arguments, as well as to foster a positive competitive spirit among students. – ROKIAH MAHMUD
