SPTB Brunei Darussalam emerged runners-up in the International Premier Open 12’s category of the Sarawak International Dragon Boat Regatta (SIDBR) 2024 after clocking a time of 1:14s over a 300-metre distance in Kuching, Malaysia recently.
The Sultanate’s representative also obtained third place in the International Premier Open 20’s category after posting a time of 1:11s over a 300-metre distance.
The University of Hong Kong Dragon Boat team captured the International Premier Open 12’s title with a time of 1:13s while BSACxSIAM ‘A’ Thailand claimed third place with a time of 1:15s.
Meanwhile, the International Premier Open 20s category was won by Jetama Entulon Family Tuaran Sabah after recording a time of 1:09s followed by Machong Dabu Dragon Boat China as runners-up with a time of 1:10s.
The Brunei delegation was accompanied by team manager Hetty Hartini binti Talip, assistant team manager Mohd Asham bin Haji Aliakhbar and coach Ariffin bin Haji Zainal.
The three-day long competition attracted the participation of six local teams. – Fadhil Yunus
