The Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School, Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs in collaboration with the National Association for the Hearing -Impaired (OKP) conducted a sign language workshop yesterday at the common room 2 of the school.
The workshop aimed to bring the hearing-impaired closer to the public and to improve knowledge and skills in using sign language and methods of communicating with the hearing-impaired to foster caring in a person and facilitate communication between one and another.
A total of 35 participants comprising officers, teachers and school staff attended the workshop. Head of Administration Division II Pengiran Martinah binti Pengiran Rosli, and President of OKP Pengiran Haji Norahalim bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman, along with members of the executive committee and OKP bureaus were present. The workshop concluded with the exchange of souvenirs among both parties. – Lyna Mohamad
