Four car parks will be used for shuttle service during the grand assembly of the 40th National Day celebration at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
The locations are: the Prime Minister’s Office, the Bahirah Building of the Legislative Council, the Ministry of Religious Affairs car park, and the Immigration and National Registration Department.
Acting Director of Administration and Finance and Co-Chairman of Transport Working Committee Mohammad Iskandar bin Haji Idris shared this at a press conference on the 40th National Day celebration at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) yesterday.
He added that to ensure participants arrive at the gathering points as specified, the committee requests cooperation from all parties involved, especially parents, to ensure children are dropped off at schools and shuttle points on time.
A call was also made to the public to reduce traffic congestion by carpooling to the venue.
Meanwhile, heavy vehicle drivers are advised to avoid main roads such as Jalan Menteri Besar, Jalan Perdana Menteri, Jalan Berakas, and Jalan Kebangsaan, especially leading to the indoor stadium. – Adib Noor
