With the new school term 2025 just around the corner, the Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM), a non-governmental organisation helping vulnerable groups in Brunei, cheered up 10 children from MKM clients on Friday with their ‘Back to School’ project.
The children, from Brunei-Muara and Temburong districts, went on a shopping outing for their school preparation items at a stationery store in Kampong Serusop.
In an interview, Muhd Muizzatdin bin Mohd Madani, 12, and Abdul Halim bin Reduan, 14, shared their happiness at receiving their school items. They also thanked MKM and the donors who had helped to make the event a success.
Abdul Halim also added that the event helped to lessen the burden on his mother in purchasing school preparation items, as he also has two other siblings.
Meanwhile, mother of six Siti Norain binti Abdul Karim, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to MKM for the care and assistance.
Also present at the event were Executive Committee members of MKM Zubaidah binti Dato Haji Abu Zar, Siti Razidah binti Mohamad, Hajah Zaiton binti Abu Salim and Siti Maryam Nadhriah binti Mohamad Kassim. – James Kon
