Representatives from food manufacturers, agritech companies and Enterprise Singapore were provided with an overview of the business landscape and opportunities in Brunei Darussalam during a seminar hosted by the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) titled ‘Entering the Brunei Market: A Seminar on Business Opportunities in the Food Cluster’ at the Singapore Business Federation Center on Monday.
They also learnt on investment processes and various services offered by BEDB to support foreign investors.
The seminar started with a welcome address by Acting Chief Executive Officer of BEDB Daniel Leong, and a sharing on the business landscape and opportunities in Brunei by the FDI Action and Support Centre (FAST). Ghanim International Corporation also conducted a presentation, highlighting their efforts to develop its BIMP-EAGA linkages and insights regarding opportunities for foreign investors who wish to set up operations in the Sultanate.
Meanwhile, Muara Port Company Sdn Bhd presented its services and facilities, as well as an overview of the port’s infrastructure and role in facilitating the movement of goods.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session with all presenters and a networking session.
The seminar plays a key role in growing and diversifying Brunei’s economy through the promotion and facilitation of foreign direct investments and strategic initiatives to support local businesses.
