Forty-nine schoolchildren from the International School Brunei’s Religious School had an immersive visit to the Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) headquarters in Bandar Seri Begawan yesterday.

Among the students was Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman ibni Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah.

Also present was Pengiran Abdul Wali Amiruddien bin Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Wadood Bolkiah.

The schoolchildren were greeted by BIBD Managing Director and CEO Junaidi bin Haji Masri.

The visit began with an interactive briefing, followed by a tour of the BIBD branch. The students had the opportunity to observe the daily operations of an Islamic financial institution, gaining valuable insights into the various banking services provided by BIBD.

The students also toured the BIBD Perdana Lounge before viewing a briefing on drones, 3D modelling, and virtual reality activities developed by BIBD Advocating Life-long Learning for Aspiring Future (ALAF) students. The interaction allowed the students to witness the potential applications of technology in various industries in the hopes of motivating them to explore their own interests in these areas.

The students were also introduced to BIBD’s NEXGEN Ambassador Arif and learnt about the advanced capabilities of the automated assistant as well as how it enhances the customer experience at BIBD.

As part of BIBD’s commitment to continuous learning, the students were briefed on the Digital Fikra, BIBD’s dedicated digital learning space for staff. The platform enables BIBD employees to expand their knowledge and acquire new skills through digital platforms and e-learning. The students were also briefed on future job requirements at an Islamic financial institution. – James Kon
