A balanced and holistic education has the power to lift a person out of trying circumstances and that excellence has always been the cornerstone of educational philosophy.
This was highlighted by the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Seri Mulia Sarjana International School (SMSIS) Dr Mary Lim, at the launch of its 25th founding anniversary logo recently.
“Every year is a transformative period in SMSIS and each time is notable for many reasons. We ensure that education is strengthened further, growing our community by welcoming new members, and bringing forward initiatives that will help guarantee our continued success in the future.”
She shared that last year saw favourable progress towards their vision and accomplished missions through educational initiatives despite significant challenges, which among were the learning management system (LMS), bring your own device (BYOD), device on demand (DOD), dugga digital assessment platform, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), Beebot and Microbit to support teaching and learning.
Dr Lim said she took pride in seeing how quickly SMSIS adapted to each new challenge and how students, teachers and staff collaborated with one another to make the most of every opportunity.
Present at the launch were Australian Deputy High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Jo Kelly, Department of Private Education officer Dayangku Norashikin binti Pengiran Haji Kamarrudin, Chief Operating Officer Leonard Lim, and Co-founder and Creative Director of Bajoo Fashion House Jacqueline Cheong.
Principal Chong Wee Meng in her welcoming remarks, said, “As educators, our motivation and passion remain strong.
“Thus we shall continue to uphold the school’s guiding statement of is providing quality international education.”
