Some 200 tubs of bubur kacang were distributed among families of the Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Secondary School (SMPAPHRSB) in Lumut as part of a project organised by the school’s parents and teachers association (PTA) on Saturday.
The school’s parents and teachers came together at the school’s cafeteria to package the home-cooked bubur kacang for distribution among parents and guardians picking up their children at the end of the school day.
School secretary Zini bin Haji Manam said the project served to enliven the atmosphere of the holy month of Ramadhan, and establish closer ties between the parents and the school.
“Alhamdulillah, we were able to pack a total of 200 portions of bubur kacang this morning, which we will be distributing via drive-through to parents and guardians who are picking their children.”
He added that the school’s PTA will continue to conduct similar events not only within the school but also across the district, as they plan to visit the rural parts of the Belait District to hand over necessities to the underprivileged.
