School celebrates high achievers

Seri Mulia Sarjana School students achieved impressive results in last year’s examination despite the disrupted face-to-face classes and missed opportunities caused by COVID-19, said the school’s acting principal of the pre-school and primary sections Putri Maharani Simanjuntak.

She made this comment during an award ceremony at Mulia Hotel yesterday.

She also highlighted the 42 four A’s and five A’s achievers in the Primary School Assessment (PSR) Examination.

The students scored 92 per cent and above for credits A to C with an overall pass rate of 97 per cent for Bahasa Melayu, English, Science and MIB – 89 per cent scored distinction grade A for English, 52 per cent for MIB and 50 per cent for Science.

For IGCSE and GCE ‘O’ Levels, credit pass rate A to C, above 83 per cent in the subjects of English, Computer Science, Chemistry and Biology, Physics and Business Studies with 92 per cent and 93 per cent.

“The occasion was more of a celebration of success obtained by the Year 6 students in the 2022 PSR and in the IGCSE and GCE ‘O’ Level exam, as proof they have completed high school at Year 11/10 Express,” she said.

The ceremony saw the awarding of five A and four A achievers for PSR examination as well as Top in Subject, 1-2 ‘A’, 3-4 ‘A’ 5 and above A, Top in Combined Science and Top in Pure Science for IGCSE and GCE ‘O’ Level.

Twenty-four students obtained outstanding results with the highest accolade given to eight A* one A achiever Elijah Cheam Kai Jie, awarded with Top in the Pure Science Stream.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Hasbi Fadlullah bin Sahibul Bahari was awarded Top in the Combined Science Stream.

Putri Maharani and Secondary Section Principal Gazalla binti Abdullah presented awards to the students and teachers.

The event also featured stage performances including Modern Chinese and Indonesian dances as well as a performance by third place winner of the Patriotic Children competition and champion of the Patriotic acapella Song competition.

The winners were also awarded for their achievements for the school by performing on stage.

Acting Special Duties Officer (Professional) of the Department of Schools at the Ministry of Education Haji Metussin bin Haji Jais was the guest of honour. Seri Mulia Sarjana founder and CEO Dr Mary Lim also attended.
