The Russian Embassy in Brunei Darussalam in Kampong Manggis hosted a classical music concert yesterday.
The concert, performed by young musicians from the Sultanate, aimed to celebrate cultural exchange and strengthen ties between Brunei and Russia. Russian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Mikhail Vladimirovich Baranov in his opening speech said the concert was intended to show that while Russia and Brunei may be geographically distant, culture serves as a bridge that unites the people of both nations and fosters a sense of shared community.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof was in attendance.
The audience also included members of the diplomatic corps, officials from various ministries and government agencies, as well as representatives from the local community.
The concert was well-received and served as a testament to the power of music in fostering international understanding and camaraderie. – Fadhil Yunus
