Royal praise for Brunei’s enduring spiritual traditions

His Majesty launches Knowledge Convention 2023 themed ‘Nationwide Munajat with Repentance’

 

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izaddin Waddaulah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Safuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam on Thursday graced the Knowledge Convention 2023 at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

In a titah to mark the launch, His Majesty expressed gratitude for the enduring Bruneian tradition of seeking solace through Istiqamah, especially in the face of challenges and calamities adhering to religious standard operating procedures (SOP) practices.

His Majesty also highlighted the deep-rooted customs inherited over many years, and emphasised the significance of intensifying the recitation of Al-Quran, Zikir, Surah Yaasin, Selawat in praise of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Sunat Hajat prayers, Qunut Nazilah, Ratib Al-Attas, and the continuous observance of Munajat nights.

Munajat, viewed as a means of closeness and a path to repentance, is considered a vital Wasilah in the nation’s repentance practices. His Majesty further encouraged the Ummah to draw nearer to Allah the Almighty, seeking His blessings and divine guidance in challenging times.

Accompanying Their Majesties to the ceremony were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah and His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

Also attending were His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah binti Dato Haji Nasir; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large, and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam and other members of the royal family.

The Knowledge Convention 2023 is organised in conjunction with His Majesty’s 77th birthday celebration.

The theme for this year’s Knowledge Convention is ‘Munajat Senegara Dengan Taubat’, or Nationwide Munajat with Repentance. The event will continue with the Knowledge Convention 2023 Premier Forum on November 25, and the Premier Lecture on November 27.
