Religious event marks World Day for Safety and Health at Work

A Sunnat Hajat, Asar prayer and Ratib Al-Attas ceremony was held at Ash-Shaliheen Mosque on Jalan Perdana Menteri yesterday to mark World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

Permanent Secretary (Infrastructure, Housing and Professional) at the Ministry of Development (MoD) Ir Haji Amer Hishamuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Zakaria was guest of honour in the event organised by Public Works Department (JKR) at the MoD.

JKR Acting Director General Haji Shaharuddin Khairul bin Haji Anuar was also present.

The event was aimed at praying to Allah the Almighty for Brunei Darussalam to be spared from disasters and for the Sultanate’s construction industry workers be safe from harm, accidents and work-related illnesses.

The activity was part of JKR’s initiatives to raise health and safety awareness including a week-long campaign in June.

Other programmes include talks, exhibitions, blood donation and cleaning campaigns.
